Online Vs Print Advertising
The on-going debate of digital vs print advertising has continued into 2017. Should businesses go entirely digital? Is there a place for print or is it too old-fashioned? Let’s investigate…
There is no doubt about the fact that digital advertising is growing in popularity. In 2016 businesses & other organizations in North America spent approximately a whopping $175 billion on advertising with 41.2% (approximately $72.1 billion) of it being spent on digital advertising, taking the lead for the first time in U.S. History, according to EMarketer & Forbes Magazine. TV ads came in at a close second at the end of 2016 at 40.7% (approximately $71.3 billion) being spent on TV advertising, although that was down 0.6% from the previous year. Print finished last, only accounting for 17.8% (approximately 31.2 billion) being spent on advertising.
Looking ahead, reputable statistical resources project online advertising is expected to grow annually at approximately 11.15%. There are obvious reasons behind this.
